These three superpowers are: wisdom, integrity, and perseverance.

Now, I know what you might be thinking: "Elaine, those sound nice, but I need practical help with marketing, funding, systems..." And yes, you need those things too. But without these three foundational qualities, everything else you build will eventually crumble.

​Today, we're diving into what it means to seek God's wisdom, build with integrity, and persevere through obstacles. These aren't just nice Christian virtues—they're the cornerstones of sustainable, Kingdom-focused entrepreneurship.

Superpower #1: Seeking God's Wisdom

Proverbs 24:3-4 tells us: "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures."

As Christian entrepreneurs, we can apply this principle to our ventures. Just as a house needs a strong foundation, your business, ministry, or nonprofit needs the foundation of wisdom.

But here's the question: What does seeking God's wisdom actually look like in practice?

It's easy to say "seek wisdom." It's harder to do it when you're facing a difficult decision, dealing with a challenging client, or trying to figure out your next strategic move.

Let me get practical with you.

First, make seeking God's wisdom a daily habit. James 1:5 encourages us: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." This isn't a one-time prayer—it's a daily conversation. Before you check your email, before you dive into your to-do list, ask God for wisdom for that day.

Second, commit to continuous learning. Proverbs 18:15 says: "The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out." Attend workshops. Read books. Listen to podcasts. Seek mentorship. The moment you think you know enough is the moment you stop growing.

Third, make informed decisions. Use data and research to guide your choices, but always align them with your values and God's principles. Wisdom isn't just spiritual—it's also practical. God gave you a brain. Use it. Gather information. Analyze options. Then pray for discernment about which path to take.

Fourth, practice discernment. Not every opportunity is the right one. Just because a door opens doesn't mean God is calling you to walk through it. Pray for discernment to recognize which doors God is opening versus which ones are just distractions or dead ends.

Fifth, build a diverse team. Proverbs 15:22 says: "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." Surround yourself with people who have different skills, perspectives, and experiences. Don't just surround yourself with people who think like you—that's an echo chamber, not wisdom.

Here's what I want you to understand: Wisdom isn't just about knowledge. It's about applying that knowledge in a way that honors God and serves others.

As you build your venture with wisdom, you'll find that, like the house in Proverbs, it becomes filled with rare and beautiful treasures—not just material success, but the joy of fulfilling your God-given purpose.

Superpower #2: Building with Integrity

Now let's talk about integrity, because this is where a lot of entrepreneurs—even Christian ones—start to compromise.

Proverbs 10:9 tells us: "Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out."

Integrity means being consistently honest and having strong moral principles. It's about doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Even when it costs you. Even when the shortcut looks really tempting.

Friend, as Christian entrepreneurs, integrity should be the non-negotiable cornerstone of our business practices.

Let me be honest with you. There will be times when maintaining integrity is challenging. Times when cutting a corner could save you money. Times when stretching the truth could land you a client. Times when everyone else seems to be playing fast and loose with ethics, and you're wondering if you're just being naive.

Can I tell you something? You're not naive. You're obedient. And that matters more than any deal you might lose by standing firm.

Here's how to build a venture of integrity:

Be transparent. Be open about your business practices, pricing, and policies. As Jesus said in Matthew 5:37: "Let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.'" Don't make people guess or dig for information. Be clear. Be honest. Be upfront.

Keep your promises. If you make a commitment to a client, partner, employee, or supplier, honor it. Your word should be your bond. When you say you'll do something, do it. When you commit to a deadline, meet it. When you promise a certain quality, deliver it.

Admit mistakes. When you err (and we all do), own up to it. Apologize sincerely and make it right. This builds trust and respect far more than trying to cover up or make excuses. I've found that clients are often more loyal after you've made a mistake and handled it well than they were before the mistake happened.

Treat everyone fairly. Whether it's a big client or a small customer, a potential investor or an entry-level employee, treat everyone with equal respect and fairness. God doesn't show favoritism, and neither should we.

Maintain quality. Don't cut corners to save costs or increase profits. Offer the best quality you can, as if you're working for the Lord Himself. Colossians 3:23 says: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." That's not just about attitude—it's about excellence.

Practice financial integrity. Be honest in your accounting. Pay your taxes. Use your resources wisely. Proverbs 13:11 warns: "Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow." Quick money gained through questionable means never lasts.

Stand firm in your values. There may be times when upholding your integrity might cost you a deal or a client. Stand firm anyway. The blessing of a clear conscience and God's approval far outweigh any temporary gain.

Building a venture on integrity might seem challenging in a world that often rewards cutting corners. But friend, remember this: As a Christian entrepreneur, your ultimate accountability is to God, not to quarterly profits or investor expectations.

When you walk in integrity, you can rest secure in the knowledge that you're honoring Him in your business. And often, the very integrity that cost you one opportunity opens up better opportunities you couldn't have anticipated.

Superpower #3: Perseverance​

Now let's talk about the secret weapon that often goes unnoticed but holds immense power in entrepreneurship.

It's not a revolutionary marketing strategy or a groundbreaking product. It's something you already possess within you: perseverance.

Friend, I'm going to be real with you. You're embarking on (or continuing) a journey that will test your faith, challenge your limits, and push you to grow in ways you never imagined.

There will be days when success seems just out of reach. When obstacles appear insurmountable. When doubt creeps in and whispers: "This isn't working. You should quit. You're not cut out for this."

It's in these moments that perseverance becomes your superpower.

James 1:2-4 says: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

This Scripture isn't just about spiritual trials—it applies to your entrepreneurial journey too. Each challenge you face is an opportunity to develop perseverance, which in turn shapes you into a stronger, more resilient entrepreneur.

Think about the great women of faith in the Bible. Consider Ruth, who left everything familiar to follow God's path for her life. Or Esther, who risked everything to save her people. These women didn't have an easy journey, but their perseverance changed history.

In the same way, your perseverance as an entrepreneur has the power to create lasting impact.

Every time you choose to keep going despite setbacks, you're one step closer to your goals.

Every time you decide to learn from failure instead of being defeated by it, you're growing stronger.

Every time you get back up after being knocked down, you're demonstrating faith in action.

But here's what I want you to understand: Perseverance isn't about gritting your teeth and pushing through on your own strength.

It's about leaning into God's strength when yours is depleted. It's about finding joy in the journey, knowing that God is using every experience to refine you and prepare you for the success He has in store.

Cultivating Perseverance

So how do we practically cultivate perseverance in our entrepreneurial journey?

First, stay rooted in your "why." Remember the purpose God has given you. Let it fuel you when times get tough. When you're exhausted and discouraged, come back to why you started. Who are you serving? What problem are you solving? What impact are you making? Let that purpose pull you forward.

Second, celebrate small wins. Acknowledge every step forward, no matter how small it seems. These victories build momentum. You finished your website copy? Celebrate! You had your first sales call? Celebrate! You made it through a hard week without quitting? Celebrate! Progress is progress.
